Luxury Fashion Brand Identity
Botanique Atelier is a Dubai-based fashion label specialising in timeless maternity wear, delicate lace dresses, and refined daywear for women who want elegance without excess. The brand occupies a specific and underserved position: between the fast-fashion labels that dominate the accessible end of the Dubai market and the heritage luxury houses that price most customers out. Mike Rock Studio built the brand identity and packaging for a label whose entire proposition is grace, intention, and the kind of clothing that doesn't announce itself.
The Challenge:
The Dubai fashion market is saturated with fast fashion at one end and aspirational luxury at the other, leaving a real gap for labels that offer genuine craft and considered design at a price point that is premium without being exclusionary. Botanique Atelier had the product and the philosophy to fill that gap. What it needed was a visual identity that communicated both clearly.
The audience is specific: elegant, modest, fashion-conscious women who are actively looking for brands that align with their values rather than simply their budget. This is an audience with a well-developed sense of what quality looks and feels like, and little patience for branding that performs sophistication without embodying it. The identity had to feel genuinely artisanal, emotionally considered, and scalable enough to carry the brand as it expanded into seasonal collections and luxury baby gifting.
The Approach:
The visual direction took its cue from the brand's own name and material world. Botanique suggests the botanical, the natural, something grown with care rather than manufactured at speed. Atelier suggests craft, the hand of a maker, the specific quality of something made in a particular place by someone who knows what they are doing.
The logomark is a serif wordmark with delicate ligature detail, referencing the intricacy of lace without illustrating it literally. The typographic choice communicates the same qualities as the garments: refined, considered, nothing superfluous. The palette is built from muted neutrals, floral whites, and earthy tones chosen to feel calming and premium simultaneously rather than clinical or cold.
Photography was treated as a core brand asset rather than an afterthought. Natural textures, soft lighting, intimate storytelling in every image, the focus always on the fabric and the feeling rather than the spectacle. Packaging was designed to the same standard as the garments themselves, giving every Botanique Atelier purchase an unboxing experience that felt like receiving something made specifically for the person opening it.
The Work:
Brand Identity:
A complete visual identity for Botanique Atelier, built around a delicate serif wordmark with ligature detail, a soft botanical palette, and a visual language that communicates artisanal quality and emotional depth without overstating either.
Packaging:
Packaging designed to feel like a keepsake rather than a container. Every element considered as part of the brand experience, from the material weight to the finish, ensuring that the first physical encounter with the brand matches the quality of what is inside.
The Outcome:
Botanique Atelier launched with a brand identity and packaging system that gave the label a clear and distinctive presence in the Dubai fashion market. The identity resonated with the audience it was built for: women who recognise considered design and expect it from brands they choose to wear. The visual system also gave the brand a foundation to grow into, with the flexibility to carry new collections and the baby gifting expansion without losing the coherence of the original aesthetic.
